• (his grave was removed because he is valid as the “probable murder of Kasper Hauser” and his gravestone was disgraced regularly), general Boniface de Mirabeau, Bertha Mendelssohn-Bertholdy (daughter-in-law of composer Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy), Johann Georg Jacobi, August baron von Berstett, the family Colombi und Greiffenegg. Famous is the grave of Caroline Chirstine Walter. Though she died with 17 years in 1867, her grave is – as the Freiburger say – decorated with new flowers almost every day. There are many legends about the mysterious donator.
  • The Seepark is a former territory in the west of the city of the Landesgartenschau in 1986.
  • The Jewish grave garden is in a western district of the city (Mooswald).
  • Two old lime trees (planted in 1729), each in a decorated fountain, give the name to two little places, the so-called “Oberlinden” and “Unterlinden”.
  • The Holbeinpferdle, “Stehendes Fohlen”, is a sculpture of concrete, created by the sculptor Werner Gürtner, which stands on a little piece of lawn nearby a cable-car station. Since 1980 it’s decorated with often very fanciful coats of paint by unknown persons in regular time lags.
  • The Jesuitenschloss lies on the hillside of the Schönberg ant it offers a good view at Freiburg, the Vosges, the Kaiserstuhl, the Rheinebene and the southern Black Forest.   • The “Freiburger Bächle” are small water gutters at the wayside. They are an emblem of the city.
  • Many promenades of the city centre are paved with Rhein-pepple-mosaics. At many spots there are ornaments or for example in front of shops there are symbolic interpretations incorporated into the promenade.
  • In the Badenova-Stadion there is the home of the Sportclub Freiburg (SC), a club in the 2nd Bundesliga (soccer).
  • The planetarium which is close to central railway station Freiburg, presents the cosmic relations.
  • The vivarium “Mundenhof” is a small zoo and a popular travel destination for families with children. On the neighbouring municipal territory the annual Zelt-Musik-Festival (ZMF) with soloists from different music genres (from classical music to pop) takes place.
  • The botanical garden is a part of the biological faculty of the university. This garden serves for biological research but also as a botanical location. The garden is accessible for publicity.
